Why do we NEED to understand the Gospel?

Picture
The Righteousness of God which is in the Gospel of Jesus Christ comes into the heart or mind of the believer, saving him from sin.
In Romans Chapter 1 verses 16 and 17, brother Paul tells us that he is “not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.” He declares that it contains the Righteousness of God, without which we cannot be saved. The brother calls the Gospel “ the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth....” But why, just why? Why does it have the ability to save us? Paul tells us -“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith…”

And what exactly is this Righteousness that is in the Gospel that we get through faith? Is it the righteous deeds of Christ? Is it our human works of keeping the law? Is it the works of the law? NO! The Righteousness spoken of in that scripture is God Himself. Jeremiah says “…and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD (YHWH) OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Oh yes… This Righteousness is different from or apart from the righteousness of the law (Romans 3:21&22). Again, it is YHWH-GOD Himself.

You see, the problem of man is that God (Righteousness) is absent from His thoughts. He does not have God in His mind. As a result, the man/woman sins. Sin is the transgression of God’s Law (1John 3:4). It follows therefore that the remedy for man’s sin-problem is to have God in the heart which motivates Him to keep (not transgress) all of God’s Commandments.
The Bible describes the Gospel as the power (Greek- dunamis) or dynamics of Salvation. It is the science of salvation. This means that without it, we cannot get salvation. It behooves us therefore to give ourselves over to understanding the Gospel that we may be saved and save others who hear us, through the same Gospel.

Beautiful sister Ann-Marie. The Gospel of Christ causes man to know God and to have God, he becomes a partaker of the Divine Nature for righteousness or righteous living. This the solution to all the problems in the world that we face, as a result of the war that begun in heaven. So if men will have love for the truth, they will have God in the heart and there will be NO SIN,.
