The Washing of His Word

THE WASHING OF HIS WORD

Picture
"Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me." John 13: 6-8
Here we have a scenario in which Christ was washing the feet of the disciples, but upon approaching Peter, Peter denied the advances what was Christ's response? He told him that if he washed him not, he would have no part of him, why is that? You see, in this particular event, Christ was using the washing of the disciples feet to convey a spiritual truth, what we need to identify is what was this washing that Christ was speaking of.

Picture
Ephesians 5: 25, 26 tells us: "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of the word." So we see that the washing Christ was showing in John 13: 6-8 was a spiritual washing, justification, and we know that this word is the faith of Christ, according to Romans 10: 8:"But what saith it? The WORD is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart, that is the word of Faith, which we preach." So faith is identified as that same word in Ephesians 5:25, 26. And it is this faith that makes us righteous, according to Romans 5: 1. But, what is it about the faith that makes us righteous?

Picture
The spirit of God dwells within it, look at Galatians 3: 14, which says: "That the blessing of Abraham might come on the gentiles through Jesus Christ; that he might receive the promise of the spirit THROUGH faith". So the Spirit of God, comes on the gentiles through this faith, or rather the gentiles receive the Holy Spirit through faith, and where does the spirit dwell? In the heart: " And because you are sons, God hath sent forth the spirit of his son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father." Galatians 4: 6. The spirit dwells within our heart in justification, and we become his children, hence we cry Abba, Father. Also, the faith must dwell IN us, look at Romans 3:22: "Even the righteousness of God (God himself, Jeremiah 23: 5, 6) which is by Faith, INTO all and upon all them that believe, for there is no difference." So the faith must be IN your hearts, and since the Holy Spirit comes by faith, the Holy Spirit must be where? In your hearts, and if the Holy Spirit dwells within your heart, then are you a son of God, according to Romans 8: 14. But, if we have not the spirit of God in our hearts, are we his? No, Romans 8: 9 tells us: "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his." You have no part of Christ if you are not washed by his word and if the Holy Spirit is not in you, thus confirming what Christ said to Peter in John 13: 8: "If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me." Thus showing that Christ was teaching Justification by faith in this particular scenario and event. Further evidence to this fact is found within the very chapter itself, look at verses 10, 11: "Jesus saith unto him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. "For he knew who should betray him, (Judas Iscariot) therefore said he, Ye are not all clean!" In other words, ye are not all washed by the word! Do you think that the mere washing of his literal feet would have made a difference in whether Judas would have betrayed Jesus or not? No, but had Judas Iscariot been washed or justified by the word, would he have betrayed and given up the Lord to be crucified? No! Thus confirming that Jesus was teaching Justification by faith!
Grace and peace.

JUSTIFICATION

The following are thoughts from my Bible study/meditation on The Three types of Justification in the bible, first shared 1 year ago today.
PictureMissionary Work in Akulivik, Canadian Arctic

1. Oh what salvation full and free that God by his grace can first justify me!
A wretched sinner, the carnal mind
How could he ever this lost soul find?
He called me to repent and to believe
His gospel of faith he begged me receive
I repented and gave up my idols of nought
Believed in his words as the penitent ought

2. Then all it took was his imputation
God's mental estimation that changed my condition
He thinks of me as having righteousness
No more he esteems me as that sinful mess
And so by his grace I am made free from sin
Divine imputation cleanses me from within.

PictureMissionary work in Dublin, Ireland.

3. You see,
God alone can think and it is
God alone esteems and it makes
God alone can save man from sin
And when God justifies,
Who dares a charge lay?

4. I am free, oh I am free!
By his imputation
Free from sin, free from sin!
By God's mental estimation
Made a doer of the law
By his faith's motivation
'Tis a subjective change
In my heart's condition

PicturePeaceful scene at Questelles Bay, St. Vincent
5. Now I live by faith,
Doing good works of the law
Not by my might or strength
But by his Spirit's power
All glory to him who first justified me

6. Then secondly,
Since my works by faith be
His friend, he declares me

7. Then finally,
When judgment comes in heavenly court
On account of my works I shall certainly know
Holy or unjust? Filthy or righteous?
Oh lord I cry,
Whether I live or should die
Let my humble soul be by you justified!
Amen.

HOW DEMONS TREMBLE AT THE ONENESS OF GOD

Picture
Dedicated to all baptismal candidates to remind you of the real controversy of which we are a part, that you may endure to the end. Based on my study of James 2:19 which says, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." What does it mean for the devils/demons or evil angels to tremble at God's oneness? Why do they tremble and what does this mean for God's people?
Tremble-Greek- Phrisso:
To bristle, to have one’s hair stand on end. In the NT, to shudder or quake from fear or aversion” The Complete Word study Dictionary New Testament, Dr. Spiros Zodhiates, pg. 1454 (entry 5425)
I find the meaning of the word “tremble” here to be instructive about how Satan and his evil angels think about YHWH GOD and particularly His God aloneness or numerical oneness. Not only do they fear Him in a sense of trepidation, no doubt, knowing that He will destroy them. However, the meaning of Phrisso also takes in shuddering from aversion. What is this aversion that makes evil angels shudder? Aversion means:
a: a feeling of repugnance toward something with a desire to avoid or turn from it.
b :  a settled dislike
c :  a tendency to extinguish a behavior or to avoid a thing or situation and especially a usually pleasurable one because it is or has been associated with a noxious stimulus” www.merriam-webster.com/dictinaory/aversion
Synonyms for aversion include: disgust, distaste, horror, loathing, nausea, repugnance, repulsion, revulsion
This brief word study exposes evil angels’ hatred for YHWH’s God aloneness which explains why they are so adamant about destroying those who worship HIS God Aloneness. The issue here is they hate His ONENESS. The thought of it makes them shudder or quake from aversion. Can you imagine such hatred for YHWH GOD? So filled with hatred that they tremble? Imagine someone who is very angry and wants to lash out and their very being is affected physically by their wrath. Hmmm...

Picture
Do you remember the temptation of Christ in Matthew chapter 4? At the third temptation Satan came out clearly and demanded worship from Christ, who answered him forthwith, “…Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the LORD thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:10. The next verse tells us the following about Satan’s reaction, “Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him”. Satan fled at the extolling of YHWH’s God aloneness. He has an aversion to it. He loathes and is disgusted by God's oneness and as Christ asserted it, rebuking him, he fled. (James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”).
My dear brethren, is it any wonder therefore that Satan and his evil angels will have special wrath against God’s church and I hasten to add, God’s church who exalts His God aloneness? That is, YOU. They are justified by the ONE GOD (GOD WHO IS ONE)- Romans 3:30, being recreated to fulfil their original purpose of testifying of God’s God aloneness-Isaiah 43:1,7,10-12. They keep the first commandment- Mark 12:29 and as such, Love God and their fellowmen, seen in all the ten (10) commandments of God’s holy law-Mark 12:29-31, Romans 13:8-10, 1 John 5:2-3. In the last days, these who believe in ONE GOD are the enduring/patient saints described as Keeping the commandments of God by faith of Jesus- Revelation 14:12. They are the same remnant-Revelation 12:17. To believe there is ONE GOD, is to accept as true His God aloneness, to not have idols with him, to praise Him as God alone. Isaiah 37:15,16,20; Ezekiel 14:6 Psalm 86:8, 12, 9-10. So the dragon’s wrath (Revelation 12:17) is directed hot against them because he shudders at God’s God aloneness exalted by them. He wants to extinguish them because they are a constant counter claim against His own pantheistic lie that He, a creation, could be God with God- Isaiah 14:12-14. Thou believest that there is ONE God...the devils also believe and tremble! Selah!

Picture
So we are admonished to “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” 1 Peter 5:8. To devour in the Greek is Katapino which means- “From kata and pino; to drink down, i.e. Gulp entire (literally or figuratively) -- devour, drown, swallow (up).”
Nevertheless, through the one GOD who is Christ (1 John 5:20), through his victory at the cross, Satan is finally cast down-Revelation 12:10, John 12:31-33, Luke 10:18. And Christ has given you and me authority over demons as said in Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  But understand this, dear brethren, that Satan knows this and he and his army of evil angels multiplies their efforts times ten against God’s God-aloneness believing and exalting Saints/Remnant. In the chapter "The Ascension of Christ", subheading "The wrath of Satan" of her book The Story of Redemption, Ellen White said this about the reaction of Satan and his evil angels towards Christ's resurrection and ascension:
“Satan again counseled with his angels, and with bitter hatred against God's government told them that while he retained his power and authority upon earth their efforts must be tenfold stronger against the followers of Jesus. They had prevailed nothing against Christ but must overthrow His followers, if possible. In every generation they must seek to ensnare those who would believe in Jesus. He related to his angels that Jesus had given His disciples power to rebuke them and cast them out, and to heal those whom they should afflict. Then Satan's angels went forth like roaring lions, seeking to destroy the followers of Jesus.” Emphasis supplied.

Picture
It is important that you understand this reality so you may arm yourselves with the mighty weapons of God-Ephesians 6:10-18. Rest assured that by your testimony of YHWH's God aloneness, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." So keep your born again experience by growing in the grace and faith knowledge of Jesus Christ,"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." 1 John 5:4.
Congratulations to you all on your baptism, and go forth to conquer by faith, doing many exploits for Christ in his winning army. My prayers ascend for you. Amen.

God does Not Dwell in All Men

God does Not Dwell in All Men

PictureGod dwells with those who obey him, walking in his commandments in sinfree living.
Spiritual scriptural knowledge is necessary to correct all false ideas which motivate sinful actions.  One such idea that can be rejected or corrected through the study of the Bible is the evil teaching that states that “God dwells in all men”. It is taught in religions like Hinduism and Roman Catholicism. The teaching is definitely not true and the implications of believing such falsehood are soul-destroying. It supports gross wickedness in the name of God or Religion.
If God is in all men, then He is in the wicked too and is therefore responsible for the evils they commit. Then how can he punish the sinner, if He dwells in the man while he is sinning? You see, this false doctrine charges God with evil.

Picture" The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit." Psalm 34:18
The Bible tells us that God does not dwell in the wicked. In fact, the sinner’s sinful experience makes him a child of Satan. “He that committeth sin is of the devil…ye are of your father the devil…” 1John 3: 8; John 8:44.
God dwells in the mind of a person when that individual repents, believes the Gospel and is justified or rectified by God. “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel…And by Him all that believe are justified from all things…” Mark 1:15; Acts 3:39). God himself makes a clear division between those in whom He dwells and those in whom He does NOT dwell.  So, who dare say God dwells in all men when God says He does not? Who dare say every one of us, no matter how bad we are, has good/God dwelling in us”? God does not dwell in all men. “ …for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial?...” 11 Corinthians 6:14-16.
False doctrines like the aforementioned have many persons deceived. They justify sin (in their own lives and the lives of others especially other professed Christians) yet call themselves Christians or children of God. Again, this is blasphemous and charges God with evil. Such unbiblical teaching propagates Satan’s argument that good and evil dwell together.
Come out of such error and be saved! God dwells only in the man whom He justifies or makes sin-free. Repent now and allow God to change you that you would not be wicked anymore and that God would not destroy you with other wicked at His soon second coming.

Loving YHWH Thy God...

Read Now

And thou shalt love YHWH thy God
with all thine heart

Picture
Love YHWH and Keep His commandments, this is the injunction to man as to a created being by His Creator.
Now the unrighteous cannot love nor keep His commandments because of his mind. His mind is his problem.  We are told that the carnal mind (that the sinner has) is enmity against God and is not in obedience to His law.
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." Romans 8:6, 7
According to The complete Word Study Dictionary by Spiros Zodhiates pg. 692, enmity denotes, “enemy, hatred, hostility.”  This therefore means that the unconverted, the man with the carnal mind hates God, he does not love him and according to Paul he is not subjected to the law of God neither indeed can be.  This is totally opposite to what God requires of us that is to Love YHWH and keep His commandments. For us to fulfill this requirement, YHWH must direct our hearts to love Him.  2 Thessalonians 3:5. In his mercy He circumcises the heart to love Him.
“And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.” Deuteronomy 30:6.
This is so wonderful, that YHWH can cause us to love him by His very act.  The carnal mind will be removed from out of our flesh and instead of hostility and hatred manifested towards God we are made to love him.
The prophet Ezekiel tells us more about this work that gives us a change of mind in Ezekiel chapter thirty-six verses twenty-five and twenty-six.
“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."  (emphasis supplied)

Picture
When God does the work of justifying man, by the removal of the stony heart, he is causing man to ceases from sin; the man is freed from all his filthiness and all his idols. He no longer has deeds that are filthy, why is this so? God does not leave the man empty; YHWH puts His Spirit within him and causes the man with the new heart to obey Him. “And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”    Ezekiel 36:27
This is the only way a man can love God, he must be granted the gift of the Holy Spirit, he must be given the spiritual mind.
Paul, in his epistle to the Corinthians church in first Corinthians chapter sixteen and verse twenty-two  places a curse on all those who do not love the Lord Jesus Christ. This is very significant for we see that one cannot love God except he has a change of heart or that he is saved. Jesus or YHWH-Savior is the love of God to us, the rejection of the love of God is the rejection of God himself, the rejection of the plan of salvation.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Picture
To love Jesus Christ, is to love the salvation that was provided by God himself, this salvation enables us to Love God and keep His commandments, this experience testifies that YHWH alone God, that YHWH our God is ONE YHWH.  Jesus explains this to be the first commandment , “And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord.”    Mark 12: 28-29. Christ further went on to explain, how you show this in your daily living.  "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”  Mark 12: 30, 31.
This is the only way we will not perish; the acceptance of the plan of salvation is accepting the one true God in place of the idols that are found in the stony heart.  My encouragement to you dear reader is to repent of the carnal mind which hates God and rejects his commandment.  Ask God to save you through the circumcision of your heart and please keep yourselves in the love of God which is the plan of Salvation, the truths of Christ, that you may exalt God to be God alone, amen.

Sabbath Keeping Not Abolished

The Abolition of the First Covenant does NOT abolish Sabbath Keeping

Picture
In the writings of Paul there are scriptures that are wrongfully interpreted by many and so they use these passages to fight against the claims of YHWH on their lives as it pertains to the keeping of His holy day.
Colossians 2:16,17 is one of the texts that are often quoted to fight against Sabbath keeping. It says,  “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:  Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.” To understand what these verses are saying we will look at these terms: meat, drink, holyday, new moon and sabbath days.

Meat and drink
These meats and drinks were associated with the feasts or holy days. We will consider how Paul referred to meat  and drink in the book of Hebrews chapter 9 when he spoke of the first covenant a.  In his explanation of the first covenant that had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary, he expresses that gifts and sacrifices were offered, "which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances."  Hebrews 9:1.9,10.  Therefore meat and drink offerings are linked to sacrifices as a part of the first covenant.
Holydays
These are feast days. Examples of these feast days or holydays are Passover, Feast of unleavened bread, wave sheaf or wave offering and the blowing of trumpets. Now these are the law contained in ordinances that Moses placed at the side of the ark.  John 5:1, Acts 18:21, Colossians 2:16, Exodus 10:9, Leviticus 23:2, Numbers 10:10, Hosea 2:11, Amos 8:10
New Moon
New moon is also connected to festivals or holydays. David said in the book of Psalm, “Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.” Psalm 81:3,4.  Ezekiel referred to new moons as well and also associated it with the holydays and sacrifices.  “And in the day of the new moon it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish.” Ezekiel 46:6
(Even the priesthood was changed and therefore made it  necessary to also have a change of the law with regards to the priesthood.  Hebrews 7:11-14. All aspects of the ceremonial law was abolished)
Sabbath days
Sabbath days were associated with the sacrifices in the tabernacle and feast days.  You can read Leviticus chapter 23 to see its connection.
Picture
These were all shadows of things to come, the shadow of the Gospel, Christ having come, in the volume of the book it was written of Him Hebrews 10:7, 9. This clearly shows that the abolition of the first covenant has not done away with the moral law which contains the fourth commandment, which required self-denial on our part showing love and gratitude to God. The weekly Sabbath is not lumped together with or does not relate to the handwriting of ordinances that was nailed to the cross. Rather, it is a testimony that YHWH is God alone, that He is the Creator of this world and that He is the sanctifier of man. Moses shewed this clearly in  Exodus 20:8-11  “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” (emphasis supplied)
Paul (whom the haters of God love to quote) makes it plain in the second witness that there remaineth a sabbath keeping to the people of God.  Hebrews 4:9 "There remaineth therefore a rest [Sabbatismos] to the people of God.”  My prayer for you reader is that you may be joined to YHWH , that you may know him as God alone, who sanctifies His people, by accepting the keeping of the weekly Sabbath and by remembering to keep it holy. (Isaiah 56:1-7, Ezekiel 20:12,20, Exo 20:8)

Satan's Hatred for God and His People

Satan's Hatred For God And His People

Picture
As I turned the pages of my Bible for more and more evidences why I must hate Satan and have a settled dislike for him, I found nothing to love.  There is nothing good or lofty about him, nothing to be desired about him, there is nothing holy about Him.

He is described as the “Power of darkness” Prince of this world”, “Prince of the powers of the air”, “ Beelzebub the prince of devils”, “The enemy”, “ Wicked one”, “ The spirit that works in the children of disobedience”, “the adversary” and many more repulsive terms. His fall is as a result of his obsessive interest in being God with God (Isaiah 14:12-14) which turned into a strong aversion for God and His followers and so he has become our adversary (I peter 5:8).

Picture
Throughout the history of God’s church Satan has always been on the attack.  He stood before the woman ( the church of God- since woman was always used to symbolize the people of God Isaiah 54:5,6, Ephesians 5:23-25,29,31,320) to devour her child as soon it was born Revelation 12:4. “He persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.” Revelation 12:13.  The prophetic vision of “him casting out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood” is seen Revelation 12:15.  And his war against the remnant of her seed is spoken of, “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17.

Picture
Hence, Paul’s admonition and warning to the church, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12. One might ask why is his wrath kindled against this little flock? Well, Satan and his angels are seeking to devour us because we shew forth YHWH’s praise by having no Gods with him. Psalm 86:12, Mark 12:28-33. The keeping of the commandments shows the indwelling of the divine Nature and the Divine Character -John 14:15,21,23, 1 John 3:24.   And if God dwells in you, you are testifying of God’s God-aloneness in the face of Lucifer’s’ argument that he is God with God. This remnant has the testimony of Jesus Christ also.  One thing we know for sure is that the testimony of Jesus is that God is God alone and he alone must be worshipped as God and not Satan Matthew 4:10. “Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”  The angel also told John that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy Rev 19:10.  It is through justification one receives the gift of the Holy Spirit ( Galatians 3:7-9, 14) and He reveals things to come  John 16:13. Now the Holy Spirit is God dwelling in you 2 Corinthians 3:17, 1 John 3:24.

Picture
Being under the rulership of God through the gift of the Holy Spirit in our hearts is opposite to the experience you had before. "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others…that at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world.”  Ephesians 2:2,3,12. Thus you were exalting Satan to be God with God. The experience of sinfreeness that the remnant has as a result of God dwelling in them, exalts YHWH to be God alone; they glorify Him through the faith of Christ that they believe Romans 4:20, Psalm 86: 12,11,9,10.  The oneness of God causes the devils to tremble James 4:7 and thus his wrath is directed to the church that keeps the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus.  Satan hates the church for living its purpose, witnessing that YHWH is God alone. The question I will ask at this point, is, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” I pray that we will all develop in the truths of Christ, hating sin, that all our answers would be, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8: 35, 37-39. Amen

    The Renewed Man

Picture"If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation..." 2 Corinthians 5:17 A depiction of how the old is passed away and Christ gives a change or new experience.
When the Bible says “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” (11Corinthians 5:17), it is outlining to us the OBVIOUS change that the converted, born-again person experiences. It is not a make-believe, hypocritical, half-transformed experience. It is real. God now lives in the man, through the living transforming truths of Jesus Christ. The man is sin-free, not half-changed. He is not reformed in just some of his ways or most of his ways. The Bible says “ALL things are become new and ALL things are of God” (vs 17&18, emphasis supplied).

Unfortunately, there is a widespread teaching that states that “we cannot live a life free of sin.” The proponents of this teaching are quick to say “we sin in thought, word and deed…we cannot stop sinning…no one is perfect…we must think evil at some point even as a Christian…” More unfortunate is the fact that the majority of professed Christianity propagate that sin-freeness is not possible in this present world while we have sinful human flesh. How far have they fallen from Bible truth! What do they have to offer a sin-sick world? They tell the drunkard, liar, thief, murderer etc. that he must accept Christ. And when he does, they tell him that he can’t really stop sinning in this present world. What hope is that? What change are they offering? Are they inviting the sinner into a place where he feels comfortable in his secret sins, simply because he says “I believe that Jesus died for me on Calvary’s Cross?” The sincere seeker of truth and genuine change from a life of sin, ought to know that the aforementioned is NOT true Christianity.

The renewed experience that God gives to the repentant is genuine. And, it is no secret. The liar now speaks the truth. The thief stops stealing and becomes an honest labourer. The drunkard becomes sober. The callous, hard-hearted unforgiving one becomes warm, tenderhearted and forgiving. (Ephesians 4:23-32). This is all made a reality because God alone now dwells in and is therefore exalted in the heart (Romans 3:22). When God converts us or puts a ‘stopping’ to our sinful rebellion, we ought to walk in the newness of life from thenceforth. The Bible is clear in its instructions to us concerning the renewed man. His present experience is totally opposite to his past unregenerate life. “ Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness…but now being made free from sin, and become the servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life” (Romans 6: 18 & 22). Clearly, the present life of the regenerated individual is now governed and patterned after the word of Truth which abides in him as long as he keeps it. (1 John 3:9; Romans 12:1&2). Indeed, he walks with God. He walks as Christ walked- in the experience of sin-freeness (1 Peter 2:21-23).

Christ wants to renew you today. Would you let Him?
