THE GIFT OF SINFREENESS IS
THE POSSIBILITY & REALITY OF SINFREENESS PT.1

Picture
ADMONITION: This presentation is meant to be studied prayerfully using the Holy Scriptures. Amen.
Many doubt that humanity can live sinfree in a sinful world. They deny the possibility and reality of sinfreeness for one or more of the following reasons:
1. Mankind has human nature and he MUST sin.
2. Mankind cannot achieve sinfreeness because he HAS sinned.
3. It is only when mankind's body is changed that he will be able to be sinfree. And more...

When examined carefully the reasons given are based upon false concepts in the mind; false concepts about:
a. The constitution of human nature
b. What is sin
c. The human body and its relation to sin
c. Past sins...etc.
Scriptures rightly divided plainly show that the problem is not human nature nor the flesh/body of humanity. Jesus Christ had sinful human flesh (flesh affected by sin but not infected by sin) and yet he did not sin-Romans 8:3, Hebrews 4:15. Additionally, the Bible shows that sinfreeness is the present reality of the converted man, despite his past committal of sin- 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Romans 6:6,7, 11, 18, 22.
What the naysayers lack in their understanding is the TRUTH about HOW a person becomes SINFREE. You see, in their reason is the implication that sinfreeness must be achieved by some personal human effort. Yet the Bible shows that the possibility and reality of sinfreeness is seen in the fact that sinfreeness is a GIFT from GOD. Yes! The Bible never asks us to do anything to bring sinfreeness to ourselves for the first time, as if we could. Rather, it teaches that sinfreeness is a Gift of God, an act of God, the doing of GOD ALONE, to begin with. It is only after God initially gives sinfreeness to the penitent that he (the man) can then cooperate with God in keeping this gift. Let us understand this important truth with prayerful Bible study. (Get your Bible and say a prayer).

Picture
1. Mankind before conversion is sinful and cannot do anything else but sin. Romans 7:14-20, Romans 8:6-8, 1 John 3:4.
2. Unconverted man, committing sin is described as a "SLAVE" (servant) to sin. John 8:34, Romans 6:17, 20. (The word servant is more accurately translated 'slave' from the original Greek)
3. The unconverted is described as guilty and under condemnation of the law to death. Romans 3:9-19, Romans 7:24, Romans 5:12,16,18.
4. We are told that sin is of the Devil and only the Son of God-Jesus Christ who is God in the flesh- is capable of destroying the works of the Devil. 1 John 3:8
Thus we see that mankind in an unconverted state cannot make himself stop sinning; he cannot by any self-effort free himself from sin, the carnal mind, guilt, condemnation and death. Sinfreeness is a work only God can do; it is the gift of God to man. Let's examine this.

Picture
A. Jesus says only he-the Son of God-can make the slave to sin truly free from sin. John 8:34,32,36
B. This is truly a divine work because it is by the sending of the Holy Spirit of truth into the man's mind that he is made to know the truth, which Christ says makes him free. John 16:13-15, John 15:26, John 14:16,17,18.
C. This knowledge of the truth about God and Christ is also called Eternal Life and it is a gift. John 17:3, John 5:20, Romans 6:23
Thus, the Son of God makes us free from sin or sinfree and this sinfreeness is the knowledge of the truth revealed by the Holy Spirit, which knowledge in the mind is the experience of Eternal life, which is a gift. In short, sinfreeness is a gift; it is given sinfreeness. There is more evidence of this.
Since sinful, carnal man is all wrong, he needs to be made or put right. This work in scripture is also described as man being "justified". It means being "rightified"; being made right. You will see it is God's work and it is the same gift of sinfreeness.

I love how this study has been composed in a systematic way, to give a proper understanding of what salvation from sin is all about, which is the gift of sinfreeness. It gives hope to the man in sin who desires freedom from it. I love the simplicity of the truth explained and most of all the reality of it in this present world, in this body that has been affected by sin. God is love indeed!
