SINFREENESS IS POSSIBLEThe truth of the Scriptures teaches that Salvation is by Grace alone. The act of a man being born again, justified, receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit in the heart, made sinfree is a supernatural act, done by God alone. For none can remove the carnal mind from himself. John 3:5,6, (Galatians 3:3-9,14, Galatians 4:6) Romans 8:33, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 The question is what is sin? Nothing in the scriptures shows that sin is a nature. However, we are told that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23.
The Word of God shows that God, in making man sinfree, God crucifies the old man or the old way of thinking or the carnal mind. This science of how God makes a man sinfree Paul says we should know, lest we think God cannot make the comer to Him perfect. “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” Romans 6:6. We are told that when this work of crucifying the old man is done, that the body of sin or the perverted emotions are deactivated, that henceforth the man will not serve sin. This and many other ways the plan of salvation is described in the Bible. Certainly, this is God making the penitent sinfree since the mind that has sinful values is put to death and the lusts found in the body are inactivated. What are you telling me, this work is too hard for God to do? Certainly not! For he that is dead is freed from sin. Romans 6:7 Man needs to maintain this gift of sinfreeness by co-operating with God. He must obey the conviction of the Holy Spirit. “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, [ sinfreeness] not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” 1 Philippians 2:12,13. If the man fails to maintain his sinfreeness given to him by God, he must go to Christ to restore him again that he sins not. “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”1 John 2:1. The point is whether the person experiences justified abiding sinfreeness (punctuated sinfreeness) or sanctified all-times sinfreeness, sinfreeness is possible in this present world, in this body.
